A Papa Johns fan favorite is back by popular demand.

The cheesy burger pizza returns to menus Thursday, June 13, at participating Papa Johns locations nationwide, according to the Atlanta-based pizza chain.

A mashup of classic burger and pizza flavors, the pie is topped with burger sauce, ground beef, tomatoes, pickles and mozzarella cheese, a product description reads. It’s served with a pepperoncini and Papa John’s garlic sauce for dipping.

For a limited time, reward members can order a large cheesy burger pizza for $9.99, plus tax.

Papa Johns said the pie has become its “most requested menu item.”

“The Cheesy Burger Pizza has been a favorite for over a decade and fans have passionately let us know they want it back through endless comments, tweets and phone calls begging for its return,” Kimberly Bean, vice president of integrated marketing and menu strategy at Papa Johns, said in a news release.

It’s not clear if the pizza-burger fusion is a seasonal offering or here to stay.

McClatchy News reached out to Papa Johns for comment on June 11 and was awaiting a response.

Customers can also try the returning cheesy burger Papadia and new cheesy burger Papa Bites, the pizza chain said. They cost $6.99 and $4.99, respectively.

All three offerings are available nationwide starting Thursday.
