The ‘perfect introvert hideaway’ lies beneath this Tennessee home for sale. See it
So you think you’ve seen every wild house there is? Well nothing can (probably) ever top this conundrum of a home that’s listed in Brentwood, Tennessee, for $5.95 million.
The exterior has a fairy-tale-like feel, with a curved rooftop, brick walls, pillars and large windows that make it stand out against the emerald green of the trees and rolling hills of lush grass. But inside, hidden below the large residence, is a different world — one that’s perfect for those who can’t deal with people, well, all the time.
“Built for entertaining, unique Craftsman 11,500 square foot home sits in (a) residential cul-de-sac, 1.67 acres surrounded on three sides by woods.” The yard is “well-landscaped” and has “mature trees.” The home has “a surprise captivating basement, perfect for entertaining and concerts,” the listing on Realtor.com says.
“Fine woodworking throughout, the spacious house has multiple fireplaces w/gas starters, ample storage, secret passages.”
While the entire house impresses, the party doesn’t really start until the two-level basement pops into gear. Features of the basement, per the listing, include:
Catering kitchen
18-seat theater
Entertaining space
Store fronts
Vault
Elevator
The space was featured on Zillow Gone Wild, a Facebook page and X (formerly Twitter) account that showcase interesting houses up for sale around the globe. And it’s safe to say that the basement didn’t disappoint.
“I don’t even associate with enough people to have a small version of whatever happening there,” one person joked on Facebook.
“Is it wrong that my first thought was how neat it would be if I filled the display windows with Cheetos? Yeah, I probably should have kept this to myself,” another noted about the display shops.
“This rich person used their money right. To make their house as cool as possible,” someone added.
“This looks like the perfect setting for a movie about a dystopian future,” one person said. “After running from the zombies, you find a house in the Tennessee woods with a whole community of sister wives pretending everything is normal.”
“This is exactly what New York looks like in the New York, New York hotel in Vegas,” someone posted on X.
“Only $6M for the perfect introvert hideaway,” another said.
Brentwood is about a 10-mile drive south from Nashville.
