Jack in the Box worker run over when customer complains of missing chicken, MO cops say
A manager of a Jack in the Box in Missouri was run over by a customer upset over food missing from her order, police say.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said Tananye Carter, 41, went to the fast-food restaurant July 16 and complained that a chicken strip was missing from her order three days prior.
When the manager replaced the missing chicken strip, Carter then complained she was not given enough ranch dressing, police say. That’s when the customer spit in the manager’s face and exited the store, according to court documents.
Police said the manager also exited the restaurant as she attempted to document Carter’s license plate number.
“You’re trying to get charges put on me?” Carter said before entering her vehicle and reversing into the manager, police said.
The manager was struck in the foot and ankle, and then thrown to the ground, court documents show. She suffered a swollen and bruised ankle.
Carter was arrested the next day, according to police. She was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree assault, records show.
During a July 19 court appearance, Carter was ordered to remain in jail without bond, according to the court records.
