Claw machine at mini golf course contains unusual ‘prize,’ PA officials say. See him
A claw machine at a Pennsylvania mini golf course contained an “unusual prize,” wildlife officials said.
A game warden responded July 30 to a call about a groundhog that found his way into a claw machine at The Meadows mini golf course and ice cream shop in Duncansville and could not find his way out, according to an Aug. 6 news release from the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Southcentral Region.
When the warden “approached the machine, he saw a wave of stuffed animals move as the groundhog scurried around underneath, then it popped its head out to assess the situation,” officials said.
The vending machine company was called to unlock the machine, and the groundhog was safely captured, officials said. He was released unharmed.
The Meadows announced it is holding a contest to name the groundhog in an Aug. 9 Facebook post.
Some suggestions pay homage to the business, such as “Meadow” and “Duncan,” while others take inspiration from their favorite ice cream flavors, such as “Fluffernutter,” “Teaberry,” and “Cookie Monster.”
Duncansville is about a 90-mile drive east from Pittsburgh.
