A woman’s decision to buy a lottery scratch-off at a gas station landed her a massive win, Ohio officials said.

Carol Duncan, a newly retired woman, stopped at a Barberton Circle K and bought a $10 ticket carrying a $500,000 prize, according to an Aug. 15 news release from the Ohio Lottery.

“There’s a guy in front of me and he got the same ticket that I got. I told him, ‘I’m getting the same ticket’. I said that and mine won $500,000,” Duncan said in the release.

Duncan couldn’t believe the “mind blowing” win, officials said.

“I had to keep looking it over and over. I thought I won it before, but it was a mistake,” she said in the release.

Duncan plans to buy a house and a car for her and a car her son, officials said.

Duncan’s win means there is only one $500,000 prize remaining.

Barberton is about a 120-mile drive northeast of Columbus.
