Stranger kisses 3-year-old at train station, threatens mom with handsaw, CA cops say
A man was arrested after he was accused of kissing a 3-year-old and threatening her mother with a handsaw at a train station, California police say.
Noel Gallegos, 35, is facing multiple charges in relation to the attempted kidnapping, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a Sept. 16 news release posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
A man, later identified as Gallegos, approached the mother as she sat with her toddler daughter at a downtown Los Angeles train station on Aug. 26, police said.
Gallegos is accused of placing “his finger on the daughter’s chest” and kissing her forehead, police said.
He then reached into the stroller, grabbing the harness, police said.
When the mother pushed him away, he threatened to kill her and pulled out a handsaw from his backpack, police said.
He ran from the area, according to police.
Police said they investigated the incident over the next week and identified Gallegos, who was in custody for a separate case, as a suspect.
Gallegos was charged with one count of attempted kidnapping and two counts of criminal threats, according to police.
