A nail salon in Missouri was left with a mess after police say a deer jumped through the window.

A “young buck” jumped through the storefront window of a nail salon and “trapped itself in the bathroom,” the Overland Police Department said in a Nov. 1 Facebook post.

“When I look up and I heard the boom. It was really loud. It was like a bomb,” the owner of VL Nail Salon, Lily Vo, told KSDK. “Everybody was screaming.”

Police said they’re not sure why the deerjumped through the window.

Video footage shared on the police department’s Facebook page showed an officer carefully open a bathroom door and the young deer run out, stumbling before taking off through a door.

“We’d also like to commend the bravery of the two officers standing on the counter, behind the partition (with their cameras), encouraging PO Thompson to open the door,” police said, jokingly.

Vo told KSDK the deer caused roughly $14,000 in damage that insurance won’t pay for.

“The only thing he did was that he jumped up over everywhere from all the stations. Then messed up everything. He got hurt because he pushed the window and he got cut from the glass. That’s why he got cut very bad and was bleeding everywhere,” she told the news outlet.

Overland is a 15-mile drive northwest of St. Louis.
