11-year-old gave birth to baby fathered by stepdad, Ohio cops say. He’s found guilty
An Ohio father has been found guilty of raping his 11-year-old daughter after his two stepdaughters also came forward about the sexual abuse they faced in the family’s home, officials said.
The rape and gross sexual imposition charges were centered around his 11-year-old daughter’s August 2021 report that he had raped her, according to court documents. Other rape accusations against the 48-year-old from Columbus came from his two adult stepdaughters, documents said.
A jury announced the guilty verdict in court on Nov. 19, the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office said.
McClatchy News is not naming the man to protect the identity of the victims. The man’s attorney declined to comment on the case.
In August 2021, officers were called to a Columbus home where the daughter and two stepdaughters reported the father, according to court documents. Charges were filed in 2022 and the man was arrested in January 2023, according to court and jail records.
The 11-year-old girl told police that she was sexually abused by her father, police said. The two adult women told officers they had recently learned of the abuse.
The two stepdaughters also said they had been raped from the ages of 11 to 17 while living in the family home with their stepfather, according to documents.
The sisters told police the abuse happened between 2008 and 2019, WCMH reported.
The man impregnated one of his stepdaughters, and she gave birth to her daughter, who is now a teenager, when she was 11 years old, according to police.
A DNA test confirmed that the man was the father of the child, according to court documents.
The two sisters said they did not come forward about the sexual abuse until they were adults because they feared their stepfather, according to police.
The man faces a life sentence, according to prosecutors. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for Dec. 17.
