Teen girls refuse invite to party, then man chases and assaults them, TN police say
A man chased down a group of teen girls who were trying to get away from him, then he kidnapped and raped two of them, Tennessee authorities said.
A 15-year-old girl and two 17-year-old girls were sitting in a vehicle at a gas station at about 2 a.m. Nov. 24 when Dejuan Moore went up to them and invited them to a party, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said in a Dec. 11 news release.
The girls declined 23-year-old Moore’s invite and drove off, but Moore started chasing them down, according to police.
He’s accused of “aggressively flashing” his headlights to get them to pull over until they got scared and did, turning into an area behind a Dollar General, police said.
That’s when Moore jumped out of his own car and forced two of the girls out of their vehicle at gunpoint, according to police.
The third girl called 911 from the back seat as Moore sexually assaulted the other two, police said.
Moore fled when officers arrived, and he evaded capture for 17 days until detectives found him Dec. 11, police said.
He’s charged with three counts of kidnapping, three counts of aggravated assault and two counts of aggravated rape.
