Crash during police chase leads to discovery of body in trunk, California cops say

A crash during a police chase ended with the discovery of a woman’s body in the vehicle’s trunk, California cops reported.

Officers began pursuing a black Hyundai Sonata that had reportedly been involved in a possible kidnapping at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, El Cajon police said in a news release.

The car collided with two other vehicles after a chase through El Cajon and Spring Valley, police said. Officers tased the driver to subdue him, then arrested him.

When officers checked the Hyundai’s trunk, they discovered the body of a woman, police said.

Police did not release any other information on the 51-year-old woman or how she died, KNSD reported.

An investigation is continuing, police said.

They ask anyone with information to call 619-579-3311.

El Cajon is about a 15-mile drive northeast from downtown San Diego.
