A woman crashed into a building and then fled, abandoning an injured 4-year-old boy who later died, California police reported.

A white Infiniti FX35 hit a building at high speed at Crenshaw Boulevard and Rodeo Place at about 11 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, Los Angeles police said in a news release.

The driver abandoned her wrecked vehicle and fled in a white sedan, police said.

A 4-year-old passenger in her vehicle later died at a hospital, police said. Two other passengers, including the child’s mother, suffered serious injuries.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver, who is being sought on hit-and-run charges.

Police ask anyone with information to call 424-298-7898.
