Men break into resort room, kidnap woman and take her to home, Arizona cops say
Men broke into an Arizona resort room, assaulted a man and kidnapped a woman, police said.
Police responded at 3:01 a.m. April 8 to The Scottsdale Plaza Resort & Villas in Paradise Valley, the city police department said in a release.
The men had “forcibly entered” the hotel room and hurt the man, then took the woman out of the room and fled, police said.
The man in the hotel room called police and described the suspects to authorities.
Investigators identified the vehicle involved in the kidnapping and found it in south Phoenix, police said. Then, authorities said they watched a man get into that car and leave a home.
Police said they stopped the driver and identified him as 22-year-old Tradarian Clewis.
The vehicle he was driving belonged to 19-year-old Reginald Kimbrough, who was later identified as one of the men accused of breaking into the hotel, police said.
The kidnapped woman was found safe in the home in an upstairs bedroom, and she told police Clewis was involved in the kidnapping.
Both men were arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault, burglary and kidnapping.
Police said the woman knew Kimbrough and Clewis.
Paradise Valley is in the Phoenix metro area.
