Cat’s longtime companions bullied her until she was banished. She needs a home
A darling cat is on the hunt for a new family after her former longtime buddies suddenly went all “Mean Girls” on her in their own home.
“Bullied. Banished. Forgotten,” the Humane Society for Hamilton County in Fishers, Indiana, said of Queen Caesar, a beautiful tortoiseshell-colored cat with massive green eyes, in a April 18 Facebook post.
“Queen Caesar wasn’t always afraid. She once had a home. A family. A life she thought was hers forever.”
Suddenly, her world was turned upside down when other cats in her home became the reason she was acting timid and fearful.
“She was found as a tiny stray kitten and raised with love, but somewhere along the way, the other two cats in the home, her longtime companions, turned on her,” the shelter said. “They bullied her. Blocked her from eating and drinking and she even became fearful of using the litterbox. She ran. Hid. Did whatever she could to avoid conflict. But her owners misunderstood. And when the stress became too much, Queen Caesar was banished to the garage.”
Caesar would end up finding solace in the garage and away from the persistent bullying, the shelter noted.
“Her sweet, gentle spirit returned. She used the litterbox like a champ. She even continued to play with the family Chihuahua and loved the child in the home,” the shelter said.
Her troubles would continue whenever she set foot back in the house.
“Trying to avoid those darn bullies gave me so much anxiety. I recently did my interview with the (shelter) interviewer lady, and she was so pleased to spend time with me,” Caesar’s pet profile said. “She told me I was truly a beautiful cat, and my coat looked as if it was patterned like a patchwork quilt.”
Future owners are encouraged to gradually introduce any cats they may have to Caesar and help ease her nerves with patience.
