20-year-old son ‘viciously’ kills his mother in Illinois apartment, cops say
A woman found in an Illinois apartment with “no signs of life” was beaten to death by her 20-year-old son, Illinois police said.
The 43-year-old mother, identified as Elizabeth Peralta-Guadalupe, was ”viciously” killed in a Northlake apartment complex on May 25, police said in a May 27 news release. She was pronounced dead shortly after paramedics arrived.
Multiple family members and people at the scene were interviewed during the investigation, and two people were held by authorities, Northlake police said.
One of the two people taken into custody was Peralta-Guadalupe’s son, Larry Dorado, according to police. He is now accused of killing his mother and charged with murder, police said. The other person was released without charges.
Police did not give additional details.
Dorado is scheduled to appear in court on May 28. If convicted, he faces a life sentence with a possibility of parole after 40 years, according to police.
Northlake is about a 20-mile drive northwest from downtown Chicago.
