Fans of Bojangles breakfast can soon sink their teeth into something new.

The breakfast Bo-Rito, featuring a mashup of breakfast favorites, arrived on menus Monday, June 23, at participating restaurants nationwide, according to the Charlotte-based chicken chain.

Best known for its “made-from-scratch” biscuits, it marks Bojangles’ first foray into the breakfast wrap space, a brand spokesperson confirmed.

The limited-time Bo-Rito features country-style sausage, eggs, Bo-Rounds hash browns, Monterey Jack cheese and sausage gravy all wrapped in a flour tortilla, a product description says.

For those who like a little heat, it comes with a side of Texas Pete hot sauce.

The wraps were previously tested in Columbia, South Carolina, before hitting menus nationwide.

“We’ve been a Carolina legend since 1977, and what we’ve noticed is people like to enjoy our products in different ways,” Tom Boland, chief marketing officer for Bojangles, told McClatchy News in a phone interview.

“We know that breakfast is really popular for Bojangles, so what if we try a wrap?” Boland said, noting customers’ preference for the drive-thru and on-the-go options.

Rivals McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A have offered their own versions of the breakfast wrap for years. More recently, the Golden Arches teased the return of its beloved snack wrap after a nearly 10-year wait.

Though it’s new to the game, Bojangles’ Bo-Rito has “fresh ingredients” and a hearty portion size that will help it stand out from the competition, Boland said, adding the wrap offers both “value and convenience.”

“People are busy in the morning and want to get through the drive-thru quickly,” he said. “If you have a good price point and you have a good-sized product that’s fresh and hot, that’s typically a winning combination.”

Bojangles’ breakfast Bo-Rito is available to order as a combo or standalone item through Aug. 17, according to the restaurant chain.

Pricing information wasn’t immediately available.
