An Ohio man is accused of following a woman who honked at him while driving, then breaking into her home and attacking her husband, police say.

The road rage incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 11, in Wayne Township, the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office said in a July 15 news release.

Seth Schuetler, 30, stopped his vehicle in the road and a motorist behind him honked, then drove around him, according to deputies.

After she passed him, Schuetler followed her home and confronted her husband on the porch, the sheriff’s office said. Afraid, the woman ran behind the house while her husband tried to “de-escalate the situation.”

The husband went to get his wife, but while they were behind the house, Schuetler got his children from his vehicle and went into the home “without permission” and damaged property, deputies said.

When the couple found Schuetler inside the home, he hit the husband in the face, “then gathered his children and fled,” according to deputies. The husband was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Schuetler was taken into custody and his children were released to family, the sheriff’s office said, adding that he was booked into the Clermont County Jail on charges of burglary, assault, and three counts of endangering children. He also faces charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and aggravated menacing.

Wayne Township is a roughly 40-mile drive northeast from Cincinnati.
