8-year-old boy dies after swing set collapsed and trapped him, Missouri cops say
An 8-year-old boy died after police say the swing set he was on collapsed and trapped him.
Cortez Williams Jr. was playing on a backyard swing set when it collapsed Sept. 21, according to the St. Louis County Police Department.
Williams became trapped under a crossbar, but family members were able to free him, police said.
Initially, he seemed to only have minor injuries, but later he became unresponsive, police said.
Williams was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is investigating.
