Dad and 7-year-old son found dead in river after boat flipped, WA cops say
A dad and his 7-year-old son were found dead in a Washington river after the boat they were in overturned, deputies said.
A 33-year-old man, who was also on the boat, called 911 at 12:07 p.m. Oct. 30 from the Bogachiel River, southwest of Forks, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
He was clinging to a tree in the river when he made the call, deputies said.
Rescuers responded and found the 35-year-old dad, Christian Akers, and his son, Wyatt Akers, dead.
However, they could not find Alphonso Graham, 39, who was also on the boat when it flipped.
Forks is about a 150-mile drive northwest from Olympia.
