Petition calls on Starbucks to dump Trump
A new petition is calling for Starbucks to pull out of all Trump properties.
The petition’s creator Kyle Brooks has called on the coffee giant to “show that it stands behind its values of belonging, inclusion, and diversity,” by cutting off business with Trump. It had more than 8,000 signatures as of Saturday morning, with a goal of 9,000.
It’s not the only petition of it’s kind. One on Change.org is calling for Nike, Gucci, Kitchen Aide and others to pull out of Trump properties, due to Trump’s “bigoted bullying” brand. It has more than 80,000 signatures.
Starbucks and Trump haven’t had the best relationship. Trump suggested a boycott of the retailer during the last Christmas season over their seasonal red cups.
“This (petition) will also send a bold statement that good business partners do not shame each other; and when they do, such will not be tolerated,” Brooks wrote.
