Video from the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv shows a missile striking a high-rise apartment building, as the Russian invasion of the Eastern European country entered its third day on Saturday, Feb. 26.

The missile struck the apartment building around 6 a.m. Ukrainian time Saturday, according to news publication Ukrinform.net. No one was killed in the strike, Reuters reported, but the Associated Press said six civilians were injured.

Ukrainian officials said earlier in the day 198 Ukrainians have been killed in the attacks by Russia.

The blast is heard in the video, with the missile causing a fire and leaving a gaping hole of at least five floors in the apartment building.

“Kyiv, our splendid, peaceful city, survived another night under attacks by Russian ground forces, missiles,” Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s foreign minister, said on Twitter. “One of them has hit a residential apartment in Kyiv.”

Janez Lenarčič, the European commissioner for crisis management, condemned the attack and said it was a “clear violation of International Humanitarian Law.”

“Shelling of civilian infrastructure needs to stop now!” he said.

The building was reportedly one of many that were struck overnight in Kyiv, the most populous city in Ukraine.

“The levels of violence raining down from the sky, through the streets of this city, it’s reaching its highest level,” Al Jazeera reporter Andrew Simmons said. “Crescendos of sounds, crescendos of fear. The clock is ticking on the next stage of this Russian invasion, which is an attempt to take the capital.”

Bridges, schools and neighborhoods have been struck with air and missile strikes by Russian troops, despite the country’s officials claiming Russia would only aim at military targets, the Associated Press reported.

After a brief suspension for negotiations with Ukraine, Russian troops were ordered to resume their attack “in all directions” Saturday morning, CNN reported.

Russia’s invasion on Ukraine began early Thursday, Feb. 24, on three fronts early Thursday, Feb. 24, “bombarding cities, towns and villages”

As of 12:40 p.m. ET, Kyiv remained under Ukrainian control after the country’s forces stood against “an overnight onslaught (from Russia) that included explosions and bursts of gunfire,” The Washington Post reported.

Additional videos throughout Ukraine show explosions and their aftermath, leaving paths of smoke and wreckage.
