Vice President Joe Biden will be in Charlotte on Monday to promote the Obama administration’s record of supporting community colleges.

He will speak to an invitation-only audience at 11:15 a.m. in the Overcash Building at Central Piedmont Community College. He plans to focus on support for community colleges and businesses “that are working together to create pathways to the middle class.”

While in the area, Biden is also scheduled to speak at a political event in Fort Mill, S.C., for Democrat Fran Person. Person is a former Biden aide who is running this year in hopes of unseating U.S. Rep. Mick Mulvaney, R-S.C.
