Pilot to speak to GOP women on March 25

The U.S. Navy’s first African-American female pilot will speak to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Republican Women’s luncheon on March 25.

Brenda E. Robinson was also among the first women to make aircraft carrier landings.

The group meets at Maggiano’s Restaurant in SouthPark Mall. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., followed at noon with the speaker and lunch. Reservations can be made at www.cmrw.org. The cost is $25 for members; $30 for non-members. Jim Morrill
