How the Trump tariff war is already affecting Charlotte’s economy
President Donald Trump will sign an executive order on retirement security at a public appearance in Charlotte on Friday.
The White House announced the appearance Tuesday. The president also will headline a fundraising luncheon for two Republican congressional candidates, Mark Harris and Rep. Ted Budd. The private fundraiser at Carmel Country Club is closed to the general public. Tickets go for up to $25,000.
At around 2 p.m., the president is scheduled to go to Central Piedmont Community College’s Harris Conference Center. There, the White House said he’ll deliver remarks and sign an executive order “strengthening retirement security in America.”
A spokeswoman said the order is part of an administration policy “to promote programs that enhance retirement security and expand access to workplace retirement savings plans for American workers.”
Accompanying Trump will be Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta and Linda McMahon, administrator of the Small Business Administration.
