Early voting begins in Charlotte runoff
Early voting opened Thursday in Charlotte’s Democratic mayoral runoff, the Mecklenburg County elections board decided earlier this week.
Early voting will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Central Piedmont Community College’s Facilities Services building, 1325 E. Seventh St. Polling stations will open at other sites next week.
The Oct. 6 second primary will feature former county commissioner Jennifer Roberts and incumbent Mayor Dan Clodfelter. Roberts led the first primary but fell short of what she needed to avoid a runoff.
Here are the times and locations for early voting next week:
▪ CPCC: Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
▪ Beatties Ford Road Library, 2412 Beatties Ford Road: Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
▪ Independence Regional Library, 6000 Conference Drive: Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
▪ South County Regional Library, 5801 Rea Road: Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
▪ University City Regional Library, 301 E. W.T. Harris Blvd.: Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
▪ West Boulevard Library, 2157 West Blvd.: Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
All six sites will be open Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Who can vote?
Democrats, whether they voted on Sept. 15 or not, can vote. So can unaffiliated voters – unless they voted in the Republican primary.
