Grant Whitney named to elections board

Gov. Pat McCrory has named Charlottean Grant Whitney Jr. to the State Board of Elections.

Whitney will fill the unexpired term of Josh Howard, who resigned Jan. 1. Whitney will serve through May 2017.

Whitney is a lawyer at Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein. He’s a former chair of the Mecklenburg County Republican Party.
