Anthony Foxx endorses Hillary Clinton for president

U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx has announced his endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Fox, Charlotte's former mayor, called Clinton “a champion of American families.”

“Hillary Clinton is my candidate for President of the United States,” he said in a statement. “She is best positioned to continue the progress made by President Obama on a range of issues — from strengthening our economy, to making the right investments in our infrastructure, to common-sense gun safety laws, to ensuring a fair criminal justice system.”

Clinton will join other Democratic candidates in Charleston this week for a debate.
