If you have yet to cast your vote in the general election, there’s still a chance to get a free ride to the polls.

In North Carolina and across the country, transportation companies are offering deals on Election Day to provide easier access for registered voters.

All day long, Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) and GoRaleigh services will be fare-free for Charlotte and Triangle-area voters. Along with the discounted public transportation, here’s a guide to other options to get a free ride before the polls in North Carolina close at 7:30 on Election night:

Hertz

Hertz is offering a special deal with free rental costs for cars booked and picked up by Election Day. Using promo code ‘211636,’ customers can get one day free for rental cars reserved for at least two days at participating locations.

Lime

You can ride a Lime scooter or bike for free using the promo code ‘VOTE2024’ to get to and from your polling place. The offer can be redeemed for two 30 minute rides until midnight.

Lyft

Lyft is offering a 50% discount of up to $10 off on Election Day rides with the promo code ‘VOTE24’ which will be valid from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. in every timezone. The discount is available for rideshare, bikeshare and scooter ride options.

Uber

Uber is offering 50% off rides in every state up to $10 when users book with the ‘Go Vote’ tile in the app until 11:59 p.m. local time. Along with discounted rides, you can also get 25% off UberEats on Election Day. From 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. on Nov. 6, the deal will be available at participating restaurants on orders of $25 minimum for a $15 maximum discount.
