People who want to talk about food with candidates for Charlotte city offices and CMS school board can meet them at the 7th Street Public Market on Tuesday.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Food Policy Council is holding a candidate meet-and-greet Tuesday for voters to talk about such issues as school lunches, support for local farmers and access to healthy food.

From 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., the public is invited to drop in at the 7th Street Public Market, 224 E. Seventh St., to talk to candidates running for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school board, Charlotte mayor, and City Council. The election is Nov. 3, and early voting starts Thursday.
