Should the City Council limit the number of new parking garages in and near uptown to encourage the use of public transportation?

Yes. The more convenient it is to drive, the more likely one is to drive. Alternative mobility has to be comparable in convenience.

Describe your views on using public money to help build or improve private sports facilities or stadiums.

In general, it’s a question of economic development yield. I would treat any taxpayer expenditure as an investment and do a cost/benefit analysis of the return on that investment vs. other alternatives.

Is there an area where you disagree with your party? Why?

In general, as a small business owner, I view regulations skeptically. The regulatory arm of government is strong and rarely appears on the radar of the voting public.

What separates you from your primary opponents?

In short, my civic experience separates me from my opponents. I have a lifetime of demonstrated executive experience, both as a member of governing boards and as chair, where I’ve been able to make a difference and make things better.

What one professional or political accomplishment are you most proud of?

By far, I’m most proud of having employed more than 300 people and successfully made more than 500 payrolls over the past 25 years. My business has allowed not just me to support my family, but has also supported the families of hundreds of others.
