Should the City Council limit the number of new parking garages in and near uptown to encourage the use of public transportation?

Yes. Public transportation is a much-needed asset to the socio-economic bottom line where we live, work and play, however; there should be a limit and balance with public transportation and parking garages for all people. The city can only build up at this point and considering the new residences and office, retail tower developments, I understand the need for accessible parking, but we must utilize financial strategies to support parking as an incentive.

Describe your views on using public money to help build or improve private sports facilities or stadiums.

The use of public dollars is perfect if it helps to benefit the citizens. I support anything that create jobs and benefits the district. The dollars should reflect a priority in the budget so that we see the return on the investments, because it seems as though we are losing out.

Is there an area where you disagree with your party? Why?

Yes. We all can agree to disagree, however when you are out in the community’s city/statewide and hear how the citizens constantly speak about transparency, inclusivity, and non-representation in their city/towns, my disagreement is on constitutional rights being taken away from the everyday citizens who want the equal rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit to happiness.

What separates you from your primary opponents?

Born and raised in District 1, right on Belmont Ave, I have had 53 years of lived experience that separate and qualifies me to represent this city with conviction, integrity, transparency and a willingness to listen and learn the needs of the people. As a mother, a survivor, and advocate for keeping our city safe! Trust and accountability are important to the community. Our vote matter and so does our voices.

What one professional or political accomplishment are you most proud of?

Being the Chair of Precinct 82. It afforded me the opportunity to help bring a voice to the almost lost and forgotten community. To truly represent citizens of political gerrymandering. The people should be able to pick their politicians, instead of the politicians picking their voters. That is one reason that placed a lawsuit on behalf of the community. MAiking sure that their voices were amplified in opposition of the redistricting process and move.
