The Charlotte Observer asked candidates running to represent Charlotte area districts in the North Carolina General Assembly biographical and issue-focused questions ahead of the November election.

Click the names below to read their responses. Voters pick one candidate per district. Candidates without a link to a questionnaire did not respond to a survey from The Charlotte Observer and The Raleigh News & Observer.

The 2022 election is Tuesday, Nov. 8. In-person early voting begins Oct. 20.
