What are the most important issues facing Cornelius today, and how would you address them? Traffic, road projects, high density residential projects. My plan is the same as it was 4 years ago. Reasonable, manageable growth. Keep pressure on the State and DOT to complete projects on time without cost overruns. Our budget is heavily weighted on road projects. Infrastructure is a never ending battle but we need to stay engaged at every step. We put the word out 4 years ago that igh residential projects were not a focus. We have maintained that and I will continue to stay the course.

How would you ensure Cornelius’ growth doesn’t outpace its infrastructure? As I’ve already stated, we sent a message that we were not interested in high density residential projects here. Our focus needs to be more business and keeping as much green space in every project as possible.

Do you support implementing a local sales tax to fund transit improvements? Why or why not?

I agree that this decision should be up to the residents. I will support the vote of the people.

Why should voters choose you over others who are in the race?

I have the experience and knowledge about how our town works. I kept my word in my previous term about growth and I have a working relationship with my 4 peer candidates to help get things done.
