Have you run for elected office before? (Please list previous offices sought or held) As an incumbent Cornelius Town Commissioner (first time). This is my first time running for re-election.

Please list your highlights of civic involvement I’ve dedicated my career to strengthening communities, serving as Executive Director of Economic Development in Iredell and Cabarrus counties, Chair of the Charlotte Regional EDAC, and member of multiple state and regional boards. In Cornelius, I serve on Mayor Washam’s Transportation Task Force, bringing regional expertise to local challenges and ensuring growth decisions protect quality of life.

What are the most important issues facing Cornelius today, and how would you address them? Owning Cornelius’ Growth - See details in next question below. Enhance Public Safety - Continued support of the transition to full-time Fire Fighting staff. Prioritizing Quality of Life - See details in next question below.

How would you ensure Cornelius’ growth doesn’t outpace its infrastructure? Cornelius must own its development future. Too often towns react to market forces instead of leading with vision. I’ll ensure growth strengthens infrastructure by prioritizing projects that improve traffic flow, generate revenue to keep taxes low, and add amenities that enhance quality of life. Growth should serve residents, not overwhelm them.

Do you support implementing a local sales tax to fund transit improvements? Why or why not?

I am in support of the local sales tax for transit improvement. The legislation will immediately enable our community additional funding tools to address roads and infrastructure needs today and allow planning for future transportation options tomorrow.

Why should voters choose you over others who are in the race?

I bring proven results and regional expertise. As Commissioner, I’ve strengthened finances without raising taxes, expanded public safety, advanced road improvements, supported parks and greenways, and launched the Downtown Master Plan. My record shows I can balance growth, protect quality of life, and ensure Cornelius’ future remains strong.
