Have you run for elected office before? (Please list previous offices sought or held) Yes. I am running for re-election to my third term as City Councilman for Concord’s 5th District

Please list your highlights of civic involvement Past Chair of Cabarrus Chamber of Commerce, Past Chair of Cabarrus Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, Rotary Club.

What are the most important issues facing Concord today, and how would you address them? Balanced growth, roads and other infrastructure, continuing a positive approach to economic development, attracting industry and high paying jobs.

How would you ensure Concord’s growth doesn’t outpace its infrastructure?

Growth is a sign of a thriving city. But, if we don’t grow smartly, we put a strain on the systems our citizens rely on: roads, schools, water/sewer and emergency services. We will tie new development to infrastructure, ensure that infrastructure can support projects. We will apply conditional zoning on projects, so developers, where applicable, will fund infrastructure improvements.

Why should voters choose you over others who are in the race?

I have lived in Concord for 20 years. I deeply care about the future of our city and having served 8 years on City Council, I am what has been accomplished together with my fellow Councilpersons. I am fortunate to running unopposed. But I want to keep pushing forward, fighting for smarter development, continuing to search for solutions and improve the life of our citizens.
