A cab was found abandoned at a NC intersection. The driver was dead inside, cops say
A man in Winston-Salem was arrested Thursday in connection with the death of a cab driver.
The driver’s body was discovered Thursday morning inside the vehicle. Police were called shortly before 4 a.m., after the cab was found with its door open near an intersection, according to multiple media reports.
The driver, Richard Webb, was found dead inside the car. Officials didn’t say how Webb died, according to the Winston-Salem Journal, but evidence at the scene led police to determine his death was suspicious.
Officials later arrested 25-year-old Calvin Lee Moore, according to TV station WXII.
He faces a charge of first-degree murder, according to jail records.
Webb had been a cab driver for Classic Cab Company in Winston-Salem for three years, the business’ owner told TV station Fox 8. He had recently switched to driving during the night shift.
