Teacher arrested after ‘inappropriate relationship’ with 14-year-olds, NC cops say

A North Carolina teacher is accused of sharing inappropriate pictures with her middle school students, officials say.

Ashley Henson Beasley was working at Hunters Creek Middle School when Onslow County Schools learned of an “inappropriate relationship” she had with 14-year-old boys, the local sheriff’s office said Friday in a Facebook post.

Investigators discovered Beasley sent “inappropriate photos and videos of herself to two of her students,” the post said.

Beasley had taught eighth-grade science in the district since August, according to a statement from Onslow County Schools.

Hunters Creek Middle School is in Jacksonville, a city near the coast and roughly 55 miles northeast of Wilmington.

District officials say Beasley resigned and gave up her teaching license effective Thursday.

“Our primary concern is always for the safety and well-being of our students and the members of our school community,” the district’s statement said. “The Onslow County School system maintains high standards for all our employees and these allegations stand in stark contrast to our expectations.”

Beasley, 32, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts each of indecent liberties with a child and indecent liberties with a student by a teacher, a felony, according to the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office.

Her bond was set at $80,000, and she was scheduled to appear in court Monday morning, state records show.
