Officials are investigating the death of a 5-month-old boy in North Carolina, media outlets report.

The baby’s 21-year-old dad found him unresponsive in a bathtub at an apartment in Lumberton on Saturday, according to WPDE.

First responders were called to the home and “CPR was in progress” when they arrived, WPDE reported.

The boy was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center then flown to another hospital, where officials say he died overnight, according to WMBF.

No obvious signs of trauma were revealed in a preliminary investigation, WNCN reported.

The baby’s body will be autopsied at the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s office, according to WNCN.

No charges have been filed, according to WMBF, and officials are still investigating.

Officials ask that anyone with information call Lumberton Police Department Detective Deana Locklear at 910-671-3845, according to WNCN.
