‘Check your tickets!’ NC lottery is waiting for $1 million winner to claim prize

Someone won $1 million in North Carolina over the weekend — but nobody knows who.

Officials with the N.C. Education Lottery said a Cash 5 jackpot worth $1.06 million remains unclaimed after a drawing on Sunday. The winning ticket was purchased at a Food Lion in Mooresville, roughly 20 miles north of Charlotte.

“Check your tickets! Someone will start 2020 with a $1,063,165 Cash 5 jackpot,” lottery officials said in a news release Monday.

The chance of winning was nearly one in a million — or 962,598, according to officials.

The winning numbers are 2-7-13-34-39. The ticket holder has 180 days to claim the prize.

Cash 5 tickets cost $1. The jackpot reset to $100,000 on Monday.
