A poorly timed nap in a Sheetz parking lot lands man in jail, North Carolina cops say
A North Carolina man’s nap in a Sheetz parking lot didn’t end very well for him.
A deputy with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office noticed a man sleeping in a car on Saturday in the convenience store parking lot in Trinity and went to check on him, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Then the deputy discovered the car was stolen, the release says.
The deputy also found 15 counterfeit $100 bills in the car, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy towed the car, and the man, 33-year-old Justin Jarrell Grant, was arrested and taken to the Randolph County Detention Center, according to the release.
He is charged with felony possession of stolen motor vehicle and felony possession of 5+ counterfeit instruments and was being held on a $50,000 bond, the Sheriff’s Office says.
Grant was also wanted on several outstanding warrants in Randolph, Davidson and Guilford counties, the release says.
