Destructive storms’ aftermath captured in photos and on video in North Carolina

Powerful early-morning storms hit North Carolina hard Monday, killing one, damaging homes and businesses, uprooting trees and downing powerlines.

In Davidson County, a 61-year-old woman was killed after a tree fell through her home, the Raleigh News & Observer reported.

Meanwhile, over 200,000 were left without power in the morning, according to The Charlotte Observer, and by the afternoon, 136,000 residents still had no power.

Videos and images posted to social media captures the destruction the storm left behind.
