NC woman saw a lottery ticket that could make her a fortune. She hit the jackpot.
A woman saw a scratch-off ticket that could make her a fortune, so she bought one and hit the jackpot, NC lottery officials said this week.
Charlotte resident Angelita Blackstock hit the top $1 million prize on a $30 Millionaire Maker ticket she bought at the RaceWay on Brookshire Boulevard, according to a lottery news release Tuesday.
She beat odds of 1 in 2.95 million, according to the Millionaire Maker game page on NC Lottery.com.
Blackstock claimed her prize at lottery headquarters in Raleigh on Monday, officials said.
She could have taken her prize as a $50,000 annuity over 20 years or a $600,000 lump sum. She chose the lump sum and took home $427,509 after taxes, according to the lottery.
Blackstock didn’t tell officials what she plans to do with her big win. She couldn’t be reached by The Charlotte Observer on Tuesday.
