Mystery winner scores a top Mega Millions prize in NC. Here’s where ticket was sold.

Someone scored a top prize in the Mega Millions drawing Friday night after a stop at a convenience store down east, N.C. lottery officials said Saturday.

Just 24 hours later, two Powerball players in North Carolina won big prizes on tickets they bought for $2, N.C. lottery officials said.

The Mega Millions ticket matched four numbers with the Mega Ball for a $10,000 win, officials said on X, the former Twitter.

Ticket sold at convenience store

The odds of matching four of the five numbers and the Mega Ball are 1 in 931,000, according to the Mega Millions game page.

The player bought the ticket at the Speedway off N.C. 33 East in Greenville, according to the lottery.

The winner remained a mystery on Saturday, lottery officials said.

Numbers drawn Friday night were 15, 33, 37, 55 and 61. The Mega Ball was 24.

Mega Millions, Powerball jackpots

The Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots total about $1 billion, according to the lottery.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot stands at $443 million as an annuity and $210.3 million in cash. The next Mega Millions drawing, on Tuesday night, has a $650 million jackpot, $308.6 million as cash.

Odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million. The Powerball jackpot carries 1 in 292 million odds.

Players can buy Mega Millions and Powerball tickets at retailers, through Online Play on NC Lottery.com and via the lottery app.
