Two dogs struggling at a North Carolina shelter need a home — together.

Canine siblings Daisy and Otis are up for adoption after their loving family couldn’t keep them, an Asheville shelter wrote on social media and told McClatchy News in an email.

“Each day they are in the shelter, you can see their spirit dim,” Brother Wolf Animal Rescue said July 8 in a Facebook post. “No amount of walks, treats or adventures make it OK to put them back in the kennel and watch their hearts break.”

Daisy and Otis came to the shelter in late June and have become known for their close relationship. They’re described as loyal 3-year-old pups who play and snuggle with each other.

“These lovable Lab siblings are inseparable, sharing a bond that’s as strong as their love for snacks,” the shelter wrote in an online adoption profile. “Daisy and Otis recently lost their home and are feeling down in the shelter, but their playful and silly personalities shine through when you get them outside for a walk or hike.”

As of July 10, the shelter’s website listed the dogs as available for adoption. The “dynamic duo” must be adopted together.

“Daisy cannot be without Otis; he is her safe space,” the rescue organization wrote.

When the brother and sister aren’t eating treats, they love to pick up toys with their mouths. The shelter believes their goofiness will keep their new owner laughing.

“Give Daisy and Otis the loving home they deserve, and you’ll gain two loyal friends who will fill your life with endless fun and affection,” the shelter wrote.

More details about Brother Wolf’s adoption process can be found at bwar.org. The shelter also said it would provide assistance for a person willing to be the pups’ foster parent.
