A Powerball player missed a massive jackpot prize — but is still set to go home with extra cash in North Carolina.

The player bought a ticket that matched all but one number in the Aug. 7 drawing, making it worth $50,000, results show.

The winning numbers: white balls 6-19-35-47-57, with red Powerball 9.

So, where did the lucky ticket come from? It was sold at Stanley’s Citgo, a gas station in the popular mountain town of Asheville, an N.C. Education Lottery spokesperson told McClatchy News in an email.

The player’s ticket matched four white balls and the red ball to win big. But the player was one number from winning the larger jackpot prize of an estimated $185 million, according to the Powerball and North Carolina lottery websites.

No one hit the jackpot. Nationwide, three tickets worth $150,000 were the biggest winners the night of the drawing.

In North Carolina, drawing game winners have about six months to cash in on their prizes. As of 9:45 a.m. Aug. 8, lottery officials said no one had come forward to claim the $50,000 prize.

Tickets can be bought on the day of the drawing, but sales times and price vary by state.
