Two lottery players hit the jackpot — and are set to split a huge prize in North Carolina.

The players bought Carolina Cash 5 tickets that matched all the numbers picked in the Oct. 6 drawing, making each ticket worth $324,564, results show.

The winning numbers: 3-7-8-30-41.

One of the lucky tickets was sold at the Stop N Go store in Laurinburg, a roughly 90-mile drive southeast from Charlotte. The other winner was in the Charlotte suburb of Mooresville when they bought their ticket online, the N.C. Education Lottery told McClatchy News via email.

Cash 5 ticket prices start at $1. Each of the jackpot winners beat 1-in-962,598 odds to score the game’s top prize.

In North Carolina, the winners of drawing games have about six months to come forward. As of about 1 p.m. Oct. 7, the lucky ticket holders hadn’t cashed in on their prizes, lottery officials said.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
