A North Carolina lottery player scored a life-changing jackpot prize — but might not know it yet.

The player bought a Carolina Cash 5 game ticket that matched all the numbers picked in the Feb. 6 drawing, making it worth $246,222, results show.

The winning numbers: 8-11-21-36-37.

The winner hit the jackpot in Rougemont, a roughly 15-mile drive north from downtown Durham. The player’s lucky ticket was sold at Blalock’s Convenience Store on Roxboro Road, the N.C. Education Lottery wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Cash 5 is a rolling jackpot game that offers tickets starting at $1. To score the game’s top prize, a player must match all five numbers picked in a drawing.

As of about 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 7, no one had claimed the six-figure prize. North Carolina drawing winners have about six months to cash in, lottery officials wrote on their website and told McClatchy News via email.
