‘Endearingly odd’ shelter dog has ‘endless love and energy.’ Now he needs a new home
A quirky shelter dog has boundless energy — and he’s ready for a new home.
“Weedle is…endearingly odd,” a North Carolina animal shelter worker wrote Feb. 20 in a Facebook post. “He’s FULL of energy, life, and excitement. It is my belief that he should join the local track club to enter in the high jump (he might even win the pole vault sans pole.)”
Weedle is up for adoption after he was picked up as a stray in January. Over time, the 1-year-old pup has become known for his friendliness and love for playtime, the Asheville Humane Society wrote in an online adoption profile and an email to McClatchy News.
“His wagging tail never seems to stop,” the shelter wrote. “While he loves any and all, he would thrive best in a home with adults and older children with a dog-savvy nature. He is the life of every party and will prove that to you with his big ‘doofus’ personality and loveable big brown eyes.”
Weedle is described as a mixed-breed pup with “endless love and energy.” He can’t get enough of being outdoors and enjoys soaking up attention.
“Weedle is seen foremost for his energy and excitement, but he has so much more to give,” the shelter wrote. “Weedle is a profound snuggler, emotive as all get out, and is SO happy just to be noticed and cared for. He does everything he can to make you happy. Will you help him?”
As of Feb. 24, the shelter’s website still listed Weedle among the animals in need of new owners. Details about the facility’s adoption process can be found at ashevillehumane.org.
As he waits for a second chance, the humane society said “Weedle is excited for every person that passes his kennel, as if he believes THEY’RE going to be the one to take him home.”
