Charlotte Observer, N&O reporters moderate panel on NC’s Helene recovery efforts
The Charlotte Observer and The News & Observer are presenting “A Long Way to Go: Conversations on North Carolina’s Helene Recovery,” which takes place virtually on April 10.
We invite readers to join us as we delve into ongoing housing and transportation issues, and possible solutions, for residents living in communities ravaged by Hurricane Helene.
Reporters Nora O’Neill and Richard Stradling are among scores of journalists who have been covering Helene and its aftermath, since last fall when the tropical storm swept through Asheville and many rural communities in western North Carolina.
They will moderate the virtual panel featuring:
▪ Tim Anderson, Regional Engineer, North Carolina Department of Transportation, Division 13
▪ Carol Pritchett, the Mayor of Lake Lure
▪ Nathan Ramsey, Director of the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board with Land of Sky Regional Council
▪ Lance Mills, Helene survivor
