‘Sweet’ rescued dog is ‘ready to leave his rough days behind.’ He needs a home
A rescued dog has a “heart full of love” — and he needs a fresh start.
“Despite his past hardships, Oliver’s spirit remains bright — he’s ready to leave his rough days behind and find a cozy forever home,” the Triangle Beagle Rescue of North Carolina wrote April 2 in a Facebook post.
Oliver waits for a second chance after he was picked up as a stray near Roanoke, Virginia. He was found with a broken toe and a “chemical burn on his belly,” according to the animal organization.
Oliver, who has since recovered, is now at the Raleigh-area rescue. He’s described as a “social” dog who loves to make friends with kids and other pups.
“He is available for adoption and will make a perfect addition to any family,” his foster parent, Kate Nicholas, told McClatchy News in an April 3 email. “He enjoys playing in the yard, going on walks, and taking good naps. His beagle howl sounds a bit like a turkey gobble, which is just so funny to hear!”
Oliver, believed to be 8 to 10 years old, also is known for his “happy-go-lucky” nature. He has tested positive for the tick infection ehlichia but has no symptoms, according to rescuers.
As of April 4, the rescue’s website still said Oliver was in need of a new owner. Details about the organization’s adoption process can be found at tribeagles.org.
“If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate beagle who will bring joy and companionship to your home, Oliver is your guy,” rescuers wrote.
