Thousands came together in North Raleigh Saturday, lining both sides of Capital Boulevard for a “No Kings” rally to protest the Trump administration’s policies.

Protesters chanted as they held signs and flags in the area near Triangle Town Center. Cars passing by honked to show their support.

The Saturday afternoon rally was one of two held in North Carolina’s capital city Saturday as hundreds more were organized across the country for what was billed as a “nationwide day of defiance.”

A second Raleigh rally, hosted by North Carolina Democrats and Wake County Democrats, is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the State Capitol downtown.

Saturday’s events were scheduled for Flag Day and to coincide with a military parade in Washington, D.C., organized by the Trump administration on the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and Trump’s 79th birthday.
